AWA Decision

I have decided that unless someone wants me to cosplay with them at AWA, (ie Edward, Tohru, or Asuka- my three main costumes, even if Tohru has to be remade), that I'm going to take it easy and lay off the costumes for that con. With school starting next week, and the budget I'm going to be on, I'd like to enjoy my time there, and not have to worry about getting a costume ready in time. I will still bring Ed and Asuka with me, but most of all, I want to enjoy the con, and I've seen a lot of the drama that has been circulating lately (since even before Metro) has all been costume related. Minus the fact that I was cosplaying with friends this year at AFO, I was happier out of costume, not worrying about things falling apart, and hair showing out of my wig, and such.

So basically, my costume MAKING is on hold right now, at least until I get settled in my new apartment and I know I have time for it again. School is my main priority right now... I have to do well. I can't afford anything under a 3.5 or I can kiss Nursing school out the window.

Sewing is my hobby, but nursing is my passion. And I cannot give that up for anything.

Meg WILL be done for halloween, no problem, since I have the corset allready.

Also, I have to see if I am still able to go to AWA, I don't have a room lined up yet, so I'm not sure. I'm not too keen on sleeping in my car.

My con-going will also be cut down for next year possibly, depending on how badly CN showing Naruto causes the fanboi's heads to explode and go Narutard..... *shudders*

I guess that's all for now... I have serious heart burn right now (for those of you who don't know, I have barrett's esophagus, which means basically me+heartburn= BAD... VERY BAD...It's very painful, moreso than normal acid reflux, and can turn my esophagus into one big cancerous lump, so I get scared anytime I get heart burn, and It's put me in a sour mood right now) and I've been unable to sleep well for the past few days. Which really sucks cus I have to leave the house by 6:30 to make my 8 am class MWF due to traffic and such until I get my apartment...

Okay... I must find malox.... NOW....this is getting really bad...

There is a possiblity we may have room for you in our room, but I have to be sure Richard and Matt aren't going first. Likely they won't, since Matt has a new job now, and Richard might pass on awa all together.

Unfortunately, due to the current nursing shortage and higher pay incentives now, people who really should be nurses are. And that's sad. In my experience in the health care system over the past few years as a patient, I've run into quite a few of them, and B recently did as well at Morton Plant as a Transporter. People being nurses and other health care professionals, not for the patient, but for the money. While the two of us are looking at high paying careers in the medical field that will provide a comfortable life for us and our children, it is not the money that has attracted us to health care, but caring and helping for people. I myself want to work in pediatrics, helping sick children, mainly because I believe no child should have to go through diseases like cancer and the treatments they entail. I'd love to eventually work for St. Judes, but it all depends on where he gets residency as well.
