Long time no post
Jun. 20th, 2006 01:22 amSo it's been a while since I've made a decent post....life has been very busy lately...here's a recap:
1. Work is great, but my feet are really rebelling the fact that I'm working retail again. To the point of when I'm home I have to walk on the balls of my feet cus my heels hurt so much. I think my heel spurs have come back....usually the pain is in the arch of my foot, but not now for some reason. I even got $50 Dr. Scholls shoes the other day thinking it was my crappy $10 wal-mart shoes...guess not...even thought I like having the black shoes better and I don't slip off the side of these, there is enough side support. I have also been recently dislocating my left ankle slightly if I stand a little wrong. I'm going to wrap it for tomorrow since I have to be there for 9 hours. Ewwww..... at least it's a tuesday......
2. Ran into a middle school "friend" (i.e. someone who I thought was a friend for 3 years but turned out to just be someone else who talked behind my back and pretended to be my friend). Met her husband and 14 week old baby...and found out that she has a bachelor's in veternary science and is currently managing a clinic in Clearwater..... and I work at Busch Gardens without even my AA yet.............boy do I feel like a waste of air. Especially considering I figured her to be the one to get pregnant in HS and drop out or something..... Life sure is funny isn't it?
3. Start back to school officially in the fall. Basically will be taking Asian studies classes as well as my japanese language classes. I've finally decided against teaching unless it's Japanese. I'm really looking toward just being a translator, but mainly written work, like books and patents for businesses. A 20 page patent translation will net me about $6k a piece. I'll have to pass the proficiency tests though, I'm shooting for at least Level Two, but I'd love to be able to pass the full kanji test someday. We'll see how it goes...
4. Sorry I haven't been around for the past few weeks. The new job plus getting ready to move soon has my life in total hectic mode.
5. I have absolutely no drive to sew ANYTHING. This could also stem from my complete and utter lack of money to spend on the hobby. I'm taking a short haitus from cosplay until I can get back on my feet and have the drive again. It doesn't help that all I've been watching lately have been dramas, I'm totally off anime and manga right now.
6. Now why the hell would I fill this one out??? Huh? HUH?
7. I'm now a moderator at a fairly new Arashi fan forum called Aibakaland. It's really fun. I've never been a mod before, and I've met a lot of great people so far! *waves at Yuckie* I'm co-mod of both the Jun and Nino sections, and I'm having a lot of fun. *reminder to upload Gokusen screencaps tomorrow for Gokusen thread*
8. Finished watching Gokusen the other day, including the special....OMG...SHIN X YANKUMI!!! KAWAIII!!!!! I started reading ff of it now...so sue me.
9. Thanks to our illustrious Riidaa at Aibakaland Haru, I got my hands on a subbed version of Nino's dark movie, The Blue Light..... If he is anywhere near that good in Red Sun, Black Sand and the academy isn't a bunch of idiots the year that the movie actually comes out, that boy WILL be winning an Oscar. He is a phenominal dramatic actor. And the best thing is he can be a comedian too, he's so versitale. Eastwood made a very good choice in casting him in the supporting actor role opposite Ken Wantanabe. I can't wait for this movie.
10. B has been engulfed by the World Cup...I'll let you all know when he comes back to regular-land.
