Everything is set for me to move into my new apartment this saturday. I'm really excited. And when I mean everything, I mean like power and stuff is turned on and cable is set up to be installed and I'm approved and all. What I don't mean by that is the fact that I still have a lot to pack up. Luckily my mom is giving me 2 weeks to get it all out of here, so as long as I get the majority of my stuff out this weekend (my room, stuff in the living room, and furniture) I can get the rest next weekend, including what I have in our storage closet, and the stuff off of and around the desk. Most of that stuff is all still in boxes though, so that is good. I'm not super worried, since most of what I have to pack up still is clothes, and those are being sorted out and packed up in bags, since that's the easiest way. I'm going through a lot of stuff and donating it to a woman my mom works with. Her entire family lives in New Orleans and has lost everything, so they are sending a caravan up there to bring stuff.

Also, for those of you in the area, please top off your gas tanks today. All supply trucks are being diverted to the most severely hit areas, meaning gas stations will most likely be raising prices again and possibly running out of gas. Also, be sure you have a good stock of non-perishables stored, there is a possibility that we will run into a shortage of food at the grocery stores as well coming up soon.

Everyone stay safe, and I will most likely not be posting again until after I'm moved in. Even then, it will only be at school, since I will not be getting my cable and internet hooked up until the 14th.

Oh and if anyone is interested.... I'm pretty sure I got a 100% on my hiragana test today! I had a little trouble remembering ke and ko, but I pulled it out at the last minute! YAY!

Ok I don't get it, why is it we go on a gas/food shortage for LA, yet...when FL was ass raped FOUR times by FOUR hurricanes we got squat from other states?

I'm starting to be quite annoyed.

Yea, it is true that we got hit pretty bad here, but other states DID feel it, just not as much.

There is some serious gouging going on right now, especially in Atlanta, where gas is 5$ a gal.

I think the main issue is that New Orleans is still underwater and it will take a good 2 weeks to get ALL of the water pumped out. The other areas hit that had flooding, all of the water has receeded.

I know NO is such a historical city and all, but it is in the worst place possible. I honestly think it needs to be abandoned and returned to swamp land, because this has happened before (quite a long time ago) and it WILL happen again, possibly even next year.

We'll hear something from Charlie Christ soon about a cap on the prices, I know it. The main problem is the fact that the processing plant (as far as i know) that had a clogged line still isn't functioning to full capacity, if at all, so the oil companies and the distributors are having a field day being able to raise prices so much.

I'm actually happy that the gas prices are high right now. Even with having a truck, the gas mileage on it is pretty good, and once i'm moved I won't have to drive very far at all, so I'll rarely have to fill up. This will hopefully push Americans away from the gas guzzling SUV's that we've all been driving for the past decade and go back to compact, fuel effecient cars, or alternative fuels. And I don't mean the hybrids, they are not very practical, nor do they honestly save you any money. There are a few alternate fuels that either produce water as output (hydrogen fuels) or actual Oxygen (magnegas- the company my dad works for that was on the news tonight).

Wow, I just went on a rant... lol... don't get me started on alternative fuels...lol.
