On a unhappy note...I had to make up a list of all of the repairs that need to be done to my apartment to submit to the office, and if the repairs are not done by the end of this month, I am contacting my Uncle who works in a law office to call and scare them. Hopefully everything will get done in a timely manner. Here's a copy of the letter I'm sending them...
Repairs Needed For Apartment # 3208
Resident- Andrea
*All repairs have been noted and needed since move in date of September 3rd, 2005.*
• A/C: Outside unit noisy and not functioning properly. Thermostat does not read correctly. Always warm or hot in apartment.
• Front Door: Not useable and a fire hazard. Due to improper drainage from gutters, door has massive amounts of water damage. This has caused the door to warp so severely that it is impossible to use. Also, water pools inside of the entry way when it rains.
• Sliding-glass door: Lock is broken and totally inoperable. Also screen does not stay on tracks.
• Water Heater: Not only is it turned up to 150º F, which is a safety hazard, the bottom element is burned out. This causes a higher water and power bill for me and limits my hot water to 15 gallons.
• Dishwasher: Does not work properly. Leaks and does not clean dishes.
• Garbage disposal: missing guard and makes odd noises like something is stuck down there, possibly metal.
• Closet: Light is broken.
• Bedroom: No screen on the window leading to the patio.
Please fix these problems ASAP! It has already been over 10 days since I moved in, and if these repairs have not been made by the end of the month- September- you will hear from my lawyer. Thank you.
