So I've been sewing like mad this weekend and the past week to get Setsuka done. I have the base of the kimono done, which still needs to be altered so it will fall off the shoulders (not going to do that until I attach the sleeves so it falls right). Finished both inner sleeves (2 layers) and 1 of the outer kimono sleeves (which was roll-hemmed all the way around...owwies).
I got some nifty fabric paint in an arasol can today from joann's to make the griffins. I also got the remainder of the fabric yesterday, for the obi and for the bow. I bought shoes yesterday, but I kinda like them too much to try and alter them to make them work, they are still too short. I'm going to try to find some platform flip flops online and see if they work.
I decided to make the accessories out of foamy after a failed attempt at clay working. I just really suck at it. LOL. I have the comb and the heart done so far, I might take some red model magic to make the two "chopstick" type implements over actual chopsticks. I'm making the crown out of thick white foamy which I will spray paint and then use puffy paint to make the details.
I found for $7 each two pony tails that you wrap around your own hair and i will be using those for the two buns, which is awesome.
I also bought some of the blue Quidditch fabric from Joann's today onsale for like $1.20 (part of it discounted because of the size) to make some PJ's out of. :D I'll make those later though, of course.
I'm so excited that this is really coming together now. I can't wait to get my umbrella from Troy, walk around FX and yell "Scatter and DIE!" randomly. Mwahahahahaha.....
Okay, time to get back to work >_

Date: 2006-01-16 12:44 am (UTC)At this point I'm wearing Asuka, but if I can get this done (which it kinda looks like I will be able to get the kimono (the biggest part) finished by tomorrow, and then I just have to finish up the bow and the accessories. If Troy can finish the umbrella by then, I might wear Setsuka, but I don't want to rush him and if he needs one more week for it then that's fine. I might stil wear it without the umbrella since it's so freaking pretty. XD I'll let you know later though. Do you have AIM? If so, message me at AsukaDaisy
